Am I not individual a true lacto-vegetarian?

I am taking an Amino Acid supplement that come to find out contains Gelatin. Am I not being a true lacto-vegetarian, or just not a lacto-vegetarian?

Answers:
Gelatin is not vegetarian. Unless the supplement be marked "lacto-vegetarian gelatin", you must assume that it was meat base gelatin. Contrary to the answer given earlier, Kosher Gelatin is NOT lacto-vegetarian.

Since this is a 'choice' for you to take this supplement (not mandatory for you living), and you in a minute know it contains meat, if you continue to bear it, you technically wouldn't be vegetarian any more.

I've found that most supplements are available surrounded by a Vegetarian form. Try doing an internet search to see if you can locate one. I use http://www.iherb.com for my veggie CoQ10.

Hope this help. : )
just not a lacto-vegetarian because it does not have meat surrounded by it!!
"Vegetarians" meaning the ones who truly eat animal products, such as dairy and eggs, avoid gelatin, meat (including fish flesh and chicken flesh), meat broths, butter, and rennet.
I'd say you consumed an animal product by fluke, so you are still a vegetarian. I would pass the supplement to someone else that would use it and purchase one that did not contain gelatin, or you could finish your current supply so it won't be wasted.

In my inference, people who are not true vegetarian are those who claim the title, but say they still put away seafood or chicken occassionaly. That doesn't make sense to me.
Eat meat, it is why we evolved.
I have an idea that it's fine that you eat gelatin if you are a lacto-vegetarian but not if you are a vegan
Vegetarianism is the practice of not consuming the flesh of any animal (including ocean animals) with or lacking also eschewing other animal derivatives, such as dairy products or eggs[1]. Some vegetarians choose to also hold back from wearing clothing that has involved the annihilation of animals, such as leather, silk and fur.
Veganism excludes all animal products from diet and attire, whether or not their production have involved the actual death of an animal (dairy, eggs, honey, wool, silk and down feathers). Vegetarians own varied motivations including religious, cultural, ethical, environmental, social, monetary, and health concerns.
We be meant to put away meat, that's what the K9 teeth are for. If we were intended to eat plants and be vegeterians we would adjectives be walking around looking like Brantosaurouses
Gelatin is not lacto-vegetarian.

I'm really confused at the moment- I've recently become vegetarian- and am finding it difficult to impart up my favourite foods resembling sweets etc.

I have a similar problem contained by that I want to take omega-3 and lacto-vegetarian supplements are very expensive. I'm going to find other sources- resembling sesame seeds though.

However- gelatin is made of animal bones. Animal bones are useless within most cases- they take ages to rot and aren't eat. So I see it more as a bi-product of a cruel industry.

I currently refuse to munch through gelatine- but a tiny bit in a supplement that will benefit your economically being- I don't think is too fruitless. It really is your choice- whether you feel guilty or not.

I estimate I may extend my diet to include gelatine eventually- because I currently am not really sure if it is cruel to eat it or not.
Why so hung up on the lacto-vegetarian label? Gelatin contains the by-product of the meat industry. If you are okay contributing money to that industry than you can do anything yu want. If you are a vegetarian for vigour reasons afterwards a little gelatin won't hurt you. There are no tricky and fast rules for this. Do what your conscience allows you to do. Personally, I don't resembling the meat industry and I try to avoid helping them make ANY money, not even bad their scraps.

It is probable that the gelatin is what the capsule is made of and there's a arbitrariness that the gelatin is kosher (and doesn't contain animal by-product. Why don't you call the company and ask them the source? Explain why you want to know and perchance, if they're buying cruel gelatin they'll make a switch!
It's impossible to articulate. Gelatin can be made from animals or synthesized from ammino acids. Most of the gelatin you can purchase is synthesized, it is cheaper that way.

I consider myself a lacto-vegetarian even though i eat shellfish and honey. I don't approaching the taste or smell of meat at adjectives.
You're going to give yourself a headache if you don't drink a complete protein.
Well, now that you know it have gelatin will you still take it?
Vegetarians do not put away gelatin,if you don't know, gelatin is boiled animal bones and skin.
Not vegetarian, as an animal have to die for you to get that gelatin. I know at hand are "vegetarians" who still consume some animal products, such as dairy & eggs, but even the "lacto-ovo" would not consider any food derived from a dead animal as fitting.

Hey "evolutionists" & canine-teeth obsessors, if you put a piece of fruit & a live bunny in front of a 2-year-old carnivore, such as a tiger, it's evident what it would eat. Then if humans are colloquial carnivores, a human 2-year-old should do the same item...do you really think a 2-year-old would gamely kill & put away the bunny? Humans eat meat due to social conditioning, perverted tendencies.
