Answer:
I don't want to disappoint you and I know somebody is going to flame me for this...
I in recent times spent 2 hours digging through the web, looking through my own resources and getting my cardiac nutritionist *really ticked* by calling her at 10pm to ask her just about this.
It would appear that your mom is right<sigh>. The *only* thing I could find indeterminate or positive on veganism and CF was from one 'idiot' who claimed CF could be cured near doses of Selenium.
My CN suggested the link down below, the important segment is the research links at the bottom- not the study itself (unless you want to take part).
I REALLY hope someone can prove me wrong!
Staying away from animal products is actually polite for ladies with cystic fibrosis, I can't see the difficulty here. A plant-based diet near ample servings of fruit and nuts is good for the robustness of your female organs...I thought everyone know that.
verbalize to your doctor and if you doctor agrees with you hold him or her talk to you mom
Ino sum1 w/ cystic fibro. Shez 19 & actully in the hopspital rite immediately Wen I visit I'll ask Her if She no's ne one & I'll repress My Post here. Sorry I couldn't help very soon
Ok So I talk'd 2 Her 2day She's *Almost* a vegetarin, or a weekend vegg. Ne hoo She Sez if U triple Ur Caloric intake then it'll b remarkably possible but U must b strick, dr.s & Such will tell U not to but If You are ever vigilant it is possible.( also A naughty load of supplements, I don't clutch them Myself, but I'm also not a healthy eater/ not keeping vegan4 vigour 2 begin w/... Let Us know what U want "The Yahoo Community"
Being a lacto-vegetarian is insane with your cystic fibrosis. It's pretty silly lacking it as it is not a nutritionally incomplete diet. You would require a lot of supplements to do this and at your age I doubt you could oversee it. You can eat eggs and dairy minus harming animals.
Please read some legitimate nutrition sites instead of propaanda like PETA that love to upset senstive children like you. And speak to your doctor almost this instead of whining about your loving parents who are trying to do the best for you.
I love animals too, but I'm not going to be foolish roughly pretending that humans are designed to be omnivores.
There are various aliments/diseases healed or at most minuscule improved by going Vegan. I dream up your Mum just isn't aware of that. Also it it take a real commitment to drink a good in proportion diet. Not just to quit intake meat.
Here's an amazing group that has great nouns on healing through food.
