Veggie 'chicken' nuggets:
-block of tofu (frozen next thawed to be paid it 'meaty')
-1/2 tsps chicken flavour seasoning (check ingredients to make sure
its safe)
-soy sauce
-few teaspoons of plain flour
-1tsp nutritional yeast
-1 tablespoon lacto-vegetarian mayonnaise
-pinch of chili powder
1. squeeze the water from the tofu, pat dry and any slice into strips for 'steaks' or into cubes for 'nuggets'.
2. roll the tofu pieces in soy sauce and move for a few minutes.
3. mix the flour with the chili powder, nutritional yeast and chicken-flavour seasoning. Taste it- it should savour more like seasoning than flour.
4. mix some lacto-vegetarian mayo with a teaspoon of soy sauce.
5. coat the tofu pieces surrounded by the mayo-soy mixture and coat in the flour mixture.
6. place contained by an preheated, oiled vessel (use olive oil) and bake for in the order of 15 minutes until it starts crisping up. Re-season with for a time oil. Flip over, and roast for another 15 minutes.
Serve!
* Nutritional yeast comes in a tub of these little cheesy-tasting yeast flakes. Find them onsale surrounded by a health food store or at veganstore.co.uk or .com.
* A lot of meat seasonings are not detrimental. Check the ingredients. My seasoning I use is made from paprika, salt, rosemary and thyme. Some seasonings may contain MSG.
