When they are no longer adjectives for egg production because their bodies are so frail and weak from constant maltreat, they are sent to slaughter in uninsulated trucks exposed to disorderly weather conditions.
Even if people did not guzzle chickens, they would still be disposed of when they no longer produce enough eggs to be economically viable. Eggs are contained by no way compatible next to the vegetarian ethic. To consume them is blatant hippocrisy.

Many of so called "free range" chickens live within windowless sheds, and males are still killed because they cant lay eggs. Free collection chickens are certainly not free contained by a true sense of the word.
