In 1995 the New England Journal of Medicine (Vol.333, No. 5) published a report from the University of Kentucky entitled "Meta-Analysis of the Effects of Soy Protein Intake on Serum Lipids." This meta-analysis concluded that soy protein is correlated with significant decrease in serum cholesterol, low density lipoprotein (LDL), a.k.a. fruitless cholesterol, and triglyceride concentrations. In January, 2006 an American Heart Association review (in the account Circulation) of a decade-long study of soy protein benefits cast doubt on the FDA-allowed "Heart Healthy" claim for soy protein. The panel also found that soy isoflavones do not weaken post menopause "hot flashes" in women, nor do isoflavones give a hand prevent cancers of the breast, uterus, or prostate. Thus soy isoflavones within the form of supplements is not recommended. Among the conclusions the authors state, "In contrast, soy products such as tofu, soy butter, soy nuts, or some soy burgers should be beneficial to cardiovascular and overall strength because of their high content of polyunsaturated fat, fiber, vitamins, and minerals and low content of saturated rotund. Using these and other soy foods to replace foods high within animal protein that contain saturated plump and cholesterol may confer benefits to cardiovascular health."
However, the soy industry have also received similar criticism from the dairy industry for reasons including:
* High level of phytic acid

Never have Soya. But i have have soy. Soy has abundant advantages too cow milk. Cow milk is loaded w/ steroids and antibiotics. Not to mention. Are bodys are not designed to injest cow milk in the quantitys we do. Soy milk is a much more pure method to getting the calcium and portien we stipulation. But cow milk tastes opening way style better! And it's cheaper. Not to mention our parents and parents before them get by just fine on goold ol cow milk. So only just drink what you like.
It doesn't contain lactose (milk sugar) or lactin (milk protein). Some people own a bad counterattack to these. The fat it contains is smaller amount harmful than the obese in milk. And you can turn around with a smug look on your frontage claiming you're vegan.
The downside is that the price is a rip-off and you'll probably stay in good health if you're not reduced to poverty by buying gimmicky food.
yes, adjectives the above answers, but it also mimics the hormone oestrogen which, in elder women, is fairly called for. Obviously that doesn't matter to a hefty lad approaching you, but there are unqualified health benefits within soya. Witness the Japanese, who eat soya as a major part of their diet and hold the lowest incidence of heart disease in the western world.
If you are lactose intolerant it's a great alternative to dairy milk. However, it's not a saint, as for all the "nasty" stuff they nurture cows, it should not be forgotten that soy milk is very significantly processed and full or preservatives and added extras. Calcium for example occurs with ease in cows milk, but have to be added to soy milk.
Not sure but soy milk is better than milk from an animal, as its deviant to be drinking cows milk. Soy milk is widely used in Australia due to the Far Eastern influence, I estimate we should introduce it here and encourage children to drink. Dairy products contained by general are vastly hard to digest and dont cogitate they are that good for you as probably clog everything up.

Yes it have 20% more calcium than dairy milk. I use it all the time, I used to use dairy but I tried Alpro Soya Milk and its a moment ago deelish.....I reccommend the Alpro Soya Milk and they have different flavours too...strawberry, chocolate.....its lovely!
I personally don't close to milk, never have. I consider milk would probably have hormones contained by it, as it's made for the calf. The only piece that I think is needed from milk is calcium & you can obtain that in soya milk in our time +vitamins added.

One thing to be circumspect of with soya milk is that it can be related to kidney stones. I've been told this by a quantity of nutritionists and also a friend who is lactose intolerant had kidney stones and they told him it be probably from the soya milk. A vegan I met while within hospital myself (with appendicitis) was surrounded by for kidney stones too. I guess if you have a predisposition, it make it worse. It's the form the calcium is in that cause the problem.

Asda do a really nice organic unsweetened soya milk for freshly 63 pence! However I have found it to be not often in stock surrounded by their Newton Abbot store (nearest one to me!) ;-(

its ok for the first couple of cartoons but soon the taster becomes dodgy, the problem may not tell the truth with it anyone too sweet, look for a low sugar one.
It is a far well again alternative. If you have trouble next to the taste, remember that you can still use it as an alternative to milk contained by many dishes both sweet and savoury.
