I don't think near is. Try the ZenSoy pudding if you get a accidental though...it's awesome and it comes in pre-made cups.
Lard is beef large.
The brand name product -- Jell-O -- contains gelatin from the collagen surrounded by cow or pig bones and connective tissues. To make gelatin, manufacturer grind up these various parts and pre-treat them next to either a strong tart or a strong base to break down cellular structures and release proteins approaching collagen. The resulting mixture is boiled, and as the collagen breaks down, the resulting product, gelatin, is easily extracted because it forms a deposit on the surface of the boiling mixture. Vegetarian Substitutes...
There are a number of vegetarian-appropriate setting agents on the marketplace, among them agar-agar (powder or flakes from a sea vegetable), arrowroot (a starchy powder from the tropical tuber of equal name), guar gum (the product of East Indian seed) xanthan gum (a corn extract), kudzu (a starchy powder from the plant’s tuber), and certain ground nuts and seed. Most kosher gelatins are also vegetarian.
Some of these are available contained by supermarkets, others require a trip to the health food store or even more aggressive hunting. Follow the directions on the collection to see that your food sets up correctly.
No, there is not. Lard would be planned on the ingredient label as any "lard" or "beef fat" or something similar.
In the US, it's mandatory that ALL edible pre-packaged products hold ingredient labels. It's great for vegetarian and vegans!
I don't think it does and if it does I own to go and apologize to my friend whom is a lacto-vegetarian and who I fed pudding to a few days ago.
Chocolate pudding mix can be made from score with cocoa, cornstarch and sweetener.
