Ok, so i get this girl comming over tomarrow and she is a lacto-vegetarian.?

can someone reccomend a simple yet luscious vegetarian spread i can cook or prepare? Thanks a bunch

Try a simple spaghetti supper. Get a jar of meat and dairy free pasta sauce, and cook up some pasta. You can saute some onions, zuccini, garlic, etc to throw into the sauce, too. Get a loaf of french bread, and warm it up within the oven, then craft a spread out of margarine and honey (if she eats honey). You can trade name a salad for a side dish, or even saute up some green beans (canned is fine) in olive grease, garlic and almond slices. I think she would be really pleased beside it. :) Good luck!

a simple cous cous curry with some sliced onion, celery, and green pepper would be nice, with some grilled veggie kababs. Just thread some weakly steamed new potato, pearl onions, mushrooms. green pepper, and zuchini and pallid squash on wooden picks and broil or grill (marinate them in rosemary, garlic and olive grease for a little while. Serve beside pita bread and a simple salad

I'm a lacto-vegetarian. Not everything that we eat have to be "vegetarian", as in talk all the nutritional wants of a vegetarian. It basically means, don't dispense us any meat, fish or poultry products when you give us a spread. We understand and don't want to be a problem to our hosts.

Pasta is other a good bet. You can scour for great vegetarian recipe. Or search for pasta recipe and make sure the ingredients are okay. And serve it next to salad or vegetables just approaching regular people own.

This is an interesting and succulent, fun way to serve beans and salad surrounded by the same dish. An all-in-one collation.

Mexican Beans and Rice

Ingredients (use lacto-vegetarian versions):

2 cup Cooked black beans
1 10oz pkg frozen whole kernel corn
1 cup unprocessed white rice (can use brown, but should parboil a little)
1 jar (16oz) thick and chunky mild salsa
1.5 cup V8 (or you can blend together 3/4 cup can diced tomatos with green chiles and 3/4 cup water)
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1 8oz pod shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

Heat oven to 375 Combine all ingredients, stir to mix and heat for 1.25 hours, or until rice is tender, and casserole has started to thicken. Top near cheese and bake till melt.Enough for four servings.



I used minute rice, so it only took 30 minutes to cook.
Since you're not very experienced at lacto-vegetarian stuff yet, I read out "go simple"... Rice, steamed summer squash beside strips of peppers and onion, and soy beans (edamame)... Or do yourself an even bigger favor and buy some veggie burgers, enjoy a nice garden salad, and some corn chips. Also, may I recommend a nice blush chablis or crisp white wine? I think you'll do fine if you turn simple, instead of trying something harder. I have found that lacto-vegetarian dishes can be very yummy, but except done just clearly, can be awful. Vegetable dishes are usually less forgiving. What I aim is, with steak, if it's a bit overcooked, it's still a steak... join some A-1 and it's yummy. Vegetables that are a little overdone are mush... You could turn them into soup or mulch for the garden, but they merely aren't acceptable, even beside A-1. lol.... So go simple near things that aren't easily destroyed. Good luck.
You could make a casserole, within are plenty of vegetarian casseroles. For a side dish, salad is other a good bet. Also, I'm a lacto-vegetarian and I LOVE curry dishes! So many curry dishes are lacto-vegetarian and nutritional, but taste really, really angelic.
And pasta is usually a safe bet, although I myself don't similar to any pasta other than ramen. You could clear a vegetable lasagna.
A veggie pizza would be a good item to make. You could enjoy tacos with beans instead of meat, and soy cheese if she is lacto-vegetarian. But if she is vegan, remember, no cheese, milk, honey, etc.

Like someone said above, grab some veggie burgers and grill. Easy, and you can't jump wrong. Maybe grab some avocado or some other stuff to top the burgers near.
Use tin foil to make a packet and put within some sliced squash/zuchini, mushrooms, onions, drizzle some olive oil on it, and incorporate some salt and pepper and toss that on the grill away from the flames for around 15 minutes. Add in a salad and a couple beers and your set.


Try making a fresh salad, some garlic bread, and Eggplant (Aubergine) Parmesan or Manicotti (or some cheese ravioli, or toretlini... The account goes on and on). Both are pretty undemanding, taste great, and who doesn't close to Italian? Add to that a nice wine, and you have a great diner for two.

Just be sure that she is lacto-vegetarian and not vegan, because these recipe use cheese.

Manicotti

* 1 cup part-skim ricotta cheese
* 1/4 pound shredded mozzarella cheese
* 1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
* 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
* salt to soft spot
* ground black pepper to taste
* 1/2 (16 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
* 2-1/2 ounces manicotti pasta

1. Cook manicotti surrounded by boiling water until done. Drain, and rinse near cold water.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degree F (175 degrees C).
3. In a massive bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, and 1/2 cup Parmesan, parsley, and salt and pepper. Mix all right.
4. Pour 1/2 cup sauce into an 11x17 inch baking dish. Fill each manicotti shell beside 3 tablespoons cheese mixture, and arrange over sauce . Pour remaining sauce over top, and sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese.
5. Bake 45 minutes, or until bubbly.


Eggplant Parmesan

1 eggplant, wash and sliced into 8 1/2 inch slices,
2 cups mozzarella-parmesan cheese blend
1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs, seasoned with garlic powder

pepper
1 cup olive oil
2 cups spaghetti sauce

1. preheat oven to 350 degree.
2. heat olive grease in med frying container.
3. dip eggplant into breadcrumbs.
4. place 4 slices at a time, into olive oil contained by frying pan.
5. fry eggplant on respectively side, until each side is golden brown (you want them crispy, not mushy).
6. remove eggplant from skillet, and place in print towels to drain excess oil.
7. repeat dipping and frying proces near other 4 eggplant slices.
8. place 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce into 9x13 casserole dish.
9. place eggplant into bottom of cassserole.
10. pour spaghetti sauce over top of eggplant.
11. sprinkle mozzarella/parmesan cheese over top of spaghetti sauce.
12. bake contained by 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until cheese is melt.

Serve over pasta if desired.

Both take no time at adjectives and are easy and full-bodied.

I would serve some crusty bread and a side salad with the pasta.
How about a veggie Spaghetti Bolognese?
This have got to be the easiest point in the world to trade name - it's the first main banquet I ever cooked. All you really need is some tomatoes (if you use fresh - impress your date by blistering them. To do this boil a pan of sea, dunk the tomatoe in for 13 second and then remove near spoon), mushrooms and peppers.
Other things I resembling to add include courgette (zucchini), roughly cut spinach and lots of fresh garlic and basil.
If your date is a veggie for vigour reasons, she might approaching it if you serve wholemeal pasta.
And if you have any garlic moved out, you could make some garlic bread (but check that she's not lacto-vegetarian otherwise you will need lacto-vegetarian butter).

It's one of the easiest things to fashion, buy all your favorite veggies, (Brocolli, Snap Peas, Zucchini, Peppers, anything that can be heated) Saute adjectives your onions and garlic in Butter or if they're Vegan use grease. Then add your veggies, affix some spices, maybe some sauce (sweet and sour, or peanut sauce) throw higher than some rice and wah-lah you're done. If you wanted to try tofu, I would recommend marinating it you own time, then frying it, contained by smallish chunks, about 1/2 inch perchance.

Simplest lacto-vegetarian meal- Spaghetti.

Okay... im vegetarian. Here are a few of my favorite meal.

1. A large salad near snap peas. Snap peas are great if you can find them at your local store. Just heat and shock (throw into boiling hose down for about 1 1/2 minutes, afterwards throw in bowl of icy water)

2. Veggie burgers. Find them contained by the freezer section at your local grocer.

3. Veggie kabobs.

4. Eggplant parm. Ummmm. I'd dance with that.
