The poll was conducted by the respected polling firm of Kirkwood & Macy & Puggenhammer and Associates. Nearly 2300 vegetarian were included within the poll. I didn't think the percentage would be pretty so high, but be not really that surprised as many vegetarian that I know also eat fish. Do you mull over more vegetarians should consider tally fish to there diets for the vigour benefits, in precise the essential fatty acids and Omega 3s? If more veggies were aware of adjectives of the health benefits I ruminate more of them would eat fish, so spread the word. Most of the veggies surrounded by this poll who eat fish stated that they did it for the manifest good condition benefits. I know vegans will not eat fish, but since you can still be lacto-vegetarian ( PescoVegetarian) and eat fish, I give attention to it would be very in shape. What do you think?

I really don't conjecture that I will ever eat meat again. fish, chicken, etc. no event what the reason. no event how healthy. i merely think a plant base diet is healthier and I be aware of better when i don't eat meat.
I dont infer a TRUE vegitarian should eat fish, i articulate your all within, or your out.
I have tons vegatarian friends that eat fish also. I muse it's up to you. You can take supplements but those are never as obedient as the actual food source. Just eat glowing in what ever you desire. :) I
they are NOT vegetarians after. they are called any pesco-vegetarians or pescetarians. those particular "vegetarians" dont truly know what it means... and btw, the toxins within the fish can be more than 100x concentrated than the water around them. i dont imagine it would be a good concept to drink that nasty marine... and that water is cleaner than the fish. if you dont believe me you could other look it up yourself...
Hi there -Well-l dont know if thats a true lacto-vegetarian?thought that was NO meat'-just bones-lol.l put away fish-and take omega 3- dutiful for your heart-no matter what age you are?.--- pescatarian?
Interesting, this poll is completely incorrect. 35% of the 2300 people polled be lying. Fish is not a vegetable, therefore 35% of those polled be not vegetarians. The poll seem to indicate the degree of ignorance among those who claim to be vegetarian. I don't eat anything beside eyes, except potatoes, and I am healthy and strong. When I involve omega-3's I eat flax or hemp core. One cannot be a vegetarian and put away fish, but we can call ourselves anything we want. It is up to the next individual to sort out the truth.
I don't quite read how one can be a vegetarian and put away fish, but my mom and my aunt are vegetarians and get through fish. I'm the only one within my family who eat red meat. (cause it's gooooood :)
Well, Hi there, nice guy! Boy, will you catch bombarded for this one-hold on to your hat!! I must confess that when I first became a "vegetarian" I ate fish and seafood, because I be just uninformed. I hold since given it up, but I will say that tons on this forum were not too open-handed in near setting me straight. One top contributor even added a signature line to adjectives of his ahswers setting the official "record" straight. When I see a "vegetarian" on here in a minute that still eats fish, I try to be more class in pointing out the correct definition, a bit than just man a "know it all, die intricate veggie". I assume most others came to the point they are at by purchase knowledge from somewhere. Anyway, my philosophy is chomp through whatever works for you. Fish does not agree beside me anymore, so I get my omega 3 oil from flax seed. I hold a hunch the veggie patrol will be issuing another warrant for you, my dear!! Call me for bail money. I will arange a trade of tofu and nutritional yeast!
if you dont eat meat for strength reasons, i guess consumption fish would be ok if you are trying to benefit your health. its probably abundantly better than the supplements.
If God hadn't wanted us to guzzle animals...why did he make them out of meat?
Seriously though...I deliberate it depends on WHY you are a vegetarian. If it is strictly for form reasons, I come up with you are kidding yourself...our systems are designed to be omnivores...meat, fish, chicken, vegetables.
If it is for the origin of not wanting to harm animals...resourcefully, I guess fish would fall into that, so you shouldn't devour fish.
I"m a proud meat-eater...but we all enjoy to follow our own convictions I reckon.
Why bother being a lacto-vegetarian if you're going to eat any meat for robustness benefits. Chicken, Beef, Pork all own very tough and delicious cuts of meat. If you enjoy a problem with the process of mass producing 'meat' after you should only consider intake free range foods or the deep caught fish, or not eat meat at adjectives.
well consequently that 35% obviously cannot telephone themselves vegetarians... pescetarians, I don`t know, but definitely not lacto-vegetarian.
There are several different kinds of vegetarianism.
A lacto-ovo lacto-vegetarian is a vegetarian who is predisposed to consume dairy products (i.e. milk and its derivatives, like cheese, butter, or yogurt) and eggs. Lacto funds "milk" and ovo means "egg".
(There are also freshly lacto and just ovo vegetarians)
Pescetarianism is a dietary choice, within which a person — particular as a pescetarian — will not eat the flesh of any animals except fish or other types of seafood: they may also exclude other animal products like eggs and dairy from their diet.
Veganism (also strict or pure vegetarianism) is a philosophy and lifestyle that seek to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose. Vegans do not use or consume animal products of any kind.
One of the most commonly cited reason is that of health, base on findings that red meat is detrimental to health surrounded by many cases due to non-lean red meat containing high amounts of wringing fats. Furthermore, ingestion certain kind of fish raises HDL level, and some fish are a convenient source of omega-3 fatty acids, and have numerous robustness benefits in one food collection. Some health websites also state that pescetarianism lifestyle is a more glowing diet than vegetarian and lacto-vegetarian ones.
It can be claimed conversely that fish also contain toxins such as mercury and PCBs, though a careful test of fish can ensure a low-risk or toxin-free product.
Although people who assist in this diet consider it an entirely separate diet to vegetarianism and veganism comparisons are commonly struck up between them. Both Pesco-vegetarian and lacto-vegetarian diets can be each environmentally remote if precautions are not taken, due to the problems of overfishing, by-catch and in both diets, habitat destruction (through arable agriculture in vegetarianism). For this apology, some pescetarians focus on eating species that are most sustainably fished and avoid abundant farmed fish (e.g. salmon) also.
most veggies choose to be veggie because of the two reason, health benefits or morality. i know greatly of people who don't approaching eating meat because of how it make their bodies feel. i for one try to get through little meat now because of what i read contained by other articles. as for morality, i think some empire are OK eating fish because of how it is farm. they are more cautious almost what fish they do eat though. i try to drink only farm fish because its safer for the oceans. our oceans and rivers are over fished. the farms treat fish a short time more "humanly" compared to how regular meat is slaughtered and treated. there be an article i read about cows anyone butchered while they are still alive sometimes. nasty bad nasty!
so anyways i deduce that the 35% of people who drink fish are usually just folks who are veggie for health reason and not really as much concerned about the morality of bloodshed an animal.
Well, the correct word you were trying to use is pescetarian* Not a pescovegetarian.
Alot of vegetarian don't understand that meat is fish from false information.
I in recent times don't understand it.
If you want to tag on fish in your diet, than know you are no longer a lacto-vegetarian.
nice guy, please get it right. here is not such thing as a pesco lacto-vegetarian. if you decide to get through fish, then you will not be a lacto-vegetarian anything anymore. fish is meat. period. these relatives and websites that advocate that language need to quit making excuses for relations who only put away fish meat.
omega 3 can be found in flaxseed, lingonberries, and kiwi. nature's footprints makes some full of flavour cold cereal that contain omega 3's. if you live close to a trader joe's, they have pure omega 3 grease for about $6-7. they also get flaxseed meal and seed.
i've already heard empire use pesco vegetarian and pollo lacto-vegetarian, what's next...
a CARNE VEGETARIAN?!
make no sense...
A perceived risk of fish oil omega-3 supplementation have been brawny metal poisoning by the body's accumulation of traces of thickset metals, in distinctive mercury, lead, nickel, arsenic and cadmium as all right as other contaminants (PCBs, furans, dioxins), which potentially might be found especially in less-refined fish grease supplements
Strait from wikipedia:
"Vegetarianism is the practice of not consuming the flesh of any animal (including sea animals)... ...Some language for non-vegetarian diets are neologisms derived from word "vegetarianism", used to describe a diet that accepts some subset of meat contained by addition to lacto-vegetarian diet:

* Flexitarianism — A diet that consists primarily of vegetarian food, but that allows occasional exceptions."
Did you take into custody that?
"Some terms for non-vegetarian diets are neologisms derived from word "vegetarianism"
Neologisms..surrounded by another word: an invention. Fabricated.. it may root from vegetarian lifestyle, but as it strictly contradicts one of vegetarianisms prime beliefs which is to not drink animal life of any manner it is NOT a vegetarian diet.
I hope you will drop this unwanted items knowledge stale somewhere now and never return to it. I only gave you some fresh correct information you can use to flood the gap. use it!

First off nearby is no such thing as a fish ingestion vegetarian.
Where exactly did you find this study? I hold been looking on the internet for roughly 20 min and cannot find any firm by that name or any study of that sort.
The sense I ask is because you are frequently on here trying to stir the pot. The link you provided is simply some college students website(not really credible if you ask me). I would like to see this "study" and how it be conducted, who was asked, etc.
Well, copious "vegetarians" don't consider fish meat because it is not red. You shouldn't eat fish--it's not fit (contains a TON of mercury), plus you wouldn't be a vegetarian any longer.
