In almost any put your foot of life, individuals seem to ridicule what they don't twig. I don't get 'stick' as you put it. My friends do torment me at times, jokingly of course! I a short time ago tell them it's a lifestyle choice I've made to live a more wholesome go. I don't drink or smoke either so I make available them a taste of their own medication which neutralises the situation usually.

I am not a lacto-vegetarian but a "chocolatarian" I respect everyone's CHOICE to be what they want to be as long as they leave me alone.
Be sunny with what you are and who you are... for not a soul is in control of your enthusiasm like YOU are suppose to be! Live Happy ! : )
my wife, who is 46 years old have been a vegitarian since birth, her mother used to try to brand her eat meat but she finds it physically impossible. I chomp through meat myself, but we get by as we are outstandingly tolerant towards each other. It used to be rugged going out for a meal 20 years ago because not a soul bothered catering for "veggies" and everyone thought she was a freak. Then one hours of darkness some friends cooked us "a special vegitarian meal, especially for you". The thought be nice but they had fried the vegetables within fish oil and be then annoyed when my wife could taste it. However family are a lot more tolerant and aware now that we are NOT all like peas in a pod
Any time that you budge against the norms of your society, someone is going to endow with you he!! about it. This is a meat-eating society, and they're going to look at you similar to you've lost your mind. You're probably hitting them in the conscience, and that usually make them angry and/or embarassed.
Just quietly stick to your beliefs, and if you own some good, non-preachy sounding literature on the benefits of individual vegetarian, propose it to them. Invite your friends over for a good lacto-vegetarian dinner. . .show them how much fun it can be to eat respectable and creative meals.
If you are low-key and not aggressive, you'd stand a great deal better chance of making friends and possibly converting some nation to your way of thinking.
flesh eaters get an exitement when they find out because it cause them to question themselves. Rather than doing that, they try and point out your flaws to dismiss you are a flake.
It is a colloquial response and doesn't make you better, but it is annoying. Probably easier to business deal with than an amputated arm or warp, though.
My son who's 10 considered necessary to be veggie, I thought it would be a 5 minute wonder, but he's done it now for 11 months. I know nothing something like it and so had to swot up a lot. I be amazed that his school offered fish as a lacto-vegetarian option and told him he must be lacto-vegetarian if he didnt eat fish! He even have the cheek to ask if the eggs used were free span! I have respected his choice and worked rugged to ensure he has adequate iron, protein etc., thank God for Quorn! and if you think you dont enjoy much choice when eating out, try looking for a childrens lacto-vegetarian choice
Never, vegetarianism as a choice in need laws seem a strong enough argument to stop most inhabitants in their tracks though- I shall remember it within case I ever do run contained by to trouble! The only point that irritates me is the amount of people who describe themselves as lacto-vegetarian, but then in truth eat proper meat- chicken, fish, stock etc which later forces all who come across a 'real' vegetarian to ask adjectives the boring 'so do you eat...?' question.
when i be a veggie i got matching from people and other had folks telling me i'll seize ill and i can't live minus meat, i'm a vegan very soon and i still get stupid inhabitants telling me i'm sickly and humans need meat, i know i'm fine and no matter what anyone say to me i know i've made the right choice for me, so i ignore what anyone say now.

I've never tried to force my view onto anyone. If they ask, I'll share. But you can normally see a denial conversation a mile off.
Just agree to them lead thier lives and stride away...no need to return with caught out by anything.
i dont catch so much stick, but what annoys me is that people cannot be bothered to find out what vegetarianism entail! my mum reckons that vegatarians system not eating meat (right), but that neither should i guzzle dairy products (wrong!) but i should be able to put away fish (very wrong!). the simple fact is i will not put away something that requires the animal to be killed contained by order to source it. how difficult is that to comprehend?
and i really do wish that my boss would stop offering some of her pork scratchings at lunch time too!
yes i get it too !
the worst portion is when people behave abnormal when you tell them you are a veggie
'Oh I didnt know.....!'
or when they try to provoke you into an argument or speak things like 'we be meant to chomp through meat '
REALLY ANNOYING
usually i give them an earful, but near are times when i cant be bothered and all i read aloud is - "my stomach is not a grave'
Know how you perceive. I've only be vegetarian for 6 months presently but when I say I am population, who don't agree with it, find on the defence and read out that I'm preaching to them. As if. I hate ignorance. It's a valid choice and lifestyle and I can put my assessment and reasons out near.
I used to seize bothered for being lacto-vegetarian, but every day more and more studies are coming out wise saying that a vegan diet is far better than any other. Recently, a study come out saying that for type 2 diabetes a lacto-vegetarian diet was the best at controlling blood sugar. vegans also own lower risks for gallstones, breast cancer, bladder and colon cancer. Everybody who eats meat immediately is usually making apologies for themselves when they find out I'm vegan.
i give vegetarian stick because, as one guy up there said, they close to to take the moral highground. i enjoy a right to be surprised when you tell me, you're surrounded by the minority - but it's not like i'm gonna put a steak within front of you and tell you to munch through it. okay, you don't want to eat animals, even-handed enough, but i'm sick of vegetarian telling me i'm wrong for drinking meat and looking down on me for eating meat contained by their prescence. get over yourselves

I any get my home offereing me bacon on toast and saying 'you know you want one' or a chef I know other putting carrots on my food or relations saying contained by very stupid voice don't you get sick of that rabbit food...
I own to say adjectives my friends are great about it and they other have a veggi chance available if I go for dinner or a BBQ and they other use different utensils when picking up meat, they always put together sure the desserts are veggi too and go out of their style to make sure the spread is fab, and not just cheese or egg. Wish my ethnic group was similar to that, they keep offering me a acrcus fry up on a sunday morning.
I know a bloke I work next to, we used to be friends, who when we where contained by Africa explained my choice to be a veggi as an illness or my little abnormality, you can guess why be not friends now
Well I'm not a veggie or a vegan.
not a veggie because i don't consumer diary products
and I'm not lacto-vegetarian because i eat fish.
I'm aiming at self a Herbivore so they try to give me stick but i basically drop facts on them whilst they joke but the soon win bored of having facts flooded rear at them. research what is to be a veggie. And give it spinal column to them
Be strong
It adjectives goes hindmost to what is generally official by people around you. For some communities vegetarianism is a completely exotic concept and people cant think living without meat. In restaurants, contained by public functions, and other areas where food is served they newly don't serve vegetarian option. So it becomes tremendously difficult for vegetarians. And as they will enjoy to take extra pains to get something to munch through, the majority of other people will vegetarian as strange people and some empire will openly refuse to accept to their life style. This is a category of stick I've been getting for individual vegetarian.
The only difference is that they get through meat and vegetarians don't. Can't take to mean why people look so surprised when you vote you are vegetarian. Take them to a slaughterhouse or a chicken dairy farm and they probably wouldnt eat meat again ever
I've been brought up as a lacto-vegetarian, and haven't eaten meat once surrounded by my life. People touch they've got the right to ask adjectives sorts of stupid questions similar to;
"Well, what do you eat?"
I typically say something approaching - "In a supermarket, there's only one meat aisle. I can put away whatever I want from any of the other aisles" and that stops them from asking any more irritating question.
The worst thing is; do vegetarian ever question meat eaters?? No - we don't!! It's really ridiculous that we get stared at as if we're crazy, of late for not eating meat.
