can i freeze fresh basil? and if so what is procedure?

Answers:
The leaves should be stripped from the stems and laid out on a baking sheet. Set in the freezer and next transfer to plastic loads or freezer containers after they are solid. You can also chop the leaves, place them in rime cube trays along with a bit of sea and freeze them this way. Thaw them surrounded by a colander, allowing the water to drain away, or only just drop them right into soups and sauces. Pesto freezes nicely as okay.

Other Answers:

put it in the freezer

Try blending it with some sweet butter, after freeze in an ice-cube tray, afterwards wrap the little cubes in saran wrap and store surrounded by a zip-top freezer bag. Use in 2 months. Simple and delicious.

Oh, and the ice-cube tray should be sprayed next to nonstick spray to prevent sticking.

Definately! Put it in a hermetically sealed plastic bag and seize as much of the air out as possible. It will be biddable for months. You can also make things close to pesto and freeze/refrigerate for a long time. The oil contained by pesto helps preserve the basil. Also try basically putting the leaves in olive grease and then you can grease to add basil flavoring to dishes.

I've been successful freezing pesto contained by ice-cube trays. You need to join a small amount of lemon juice to prevent browning

i would a moment ago use the fresh basil as you pick it.dry it for winter use. Freezing would take away from the herb approaching anything frozen if you do not keep an eye on it contained by my own opinion.
