Absolutely. I am an average womanly adult living a lacto-vegetarian lifestyle and I'm 100% healthy. We receive protiens, vitamins, minerals and amino acids (the building blocks of protien) from eating a wide-ranging variety of fruits and veg, including leafy greens and legumes. The problem several new vegetarian (and close minded omnivores) face is a insufficiency of education more or less nutrition.

I wouldn't think so. I'm a lacto-vegetarian and I do get some form of protein from different soy products. I don't feel you could survive on fruits and veggies for long.
Add milk, eggs and cheese to your diet. And get through lots of pulses..
Also, use jaggery insteady of white sugar - you need the iron content.
