can i put coconut flakes on top of the brownies, and if i do how much should i cover everything next to them or just parts?

yes and do it while the frosting is still showery so the coconut will stick
Just sprinkle it on top.
I don't like coconut so I wouldn't but you could mix some contained by with the frosting or I would of late lightly cover it.
I would sprinkle as copious as you want...they sound apt!!
