it depends on the smallholding workers... the reason why the spinach get infected by ecoli was probably because the pasture workers probably just lug shiiits where ever they want on the plants.

A few years back some kids at a daycare get e coli from unpasteurized apple juice. They read aloud it came from animal throw away. Apple juice and cider are made from the apples on the ground.
e-coli does not come from any food unless the food is contaminated by empire or animals.

All microbes including E.coli need for growth is:
food source
wet
temperature\
time.
The bacterial do not care if the food is natural or not.
