French pastries most normally use : butter, white floor, sugar, eggs.

One simple recipe, called quatre-quarts (4 quarters):
- 250g butter
- 250g floor
- 250g sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 pinch of brackish
Mix sugar and softened butter. Add egg yolks. Mix. Add floor and salt. Beat the egg whites (until they form stiff peaks) and add on them slightly. Pour in a cake tin and cook 40-45 mn.
