BBQ/Smoker..any experts here??

As a long-time bbq'er, I've been tempt to try my hand at smoking.
Canadian Tire is a capably known Canadian broad merchandise retail chain and own several styles-if you're not from Canada and the first thing you are wondering in the region of is why would anyone buy anything but tires from a tire store. Well, we do live in a world of cross-merchandising but that isn't the casing here. They started as tire store many years ago and are immediately one of our best known, Canadian, nonspecific merchandising stores.
A fairly inexpensive one to start and I guess I'm wondering whether it make sense, for some reason I don't know on the other hand, to spend a few more $ and get a better one. I can't envisage that I'll use this more than a few times a year but..who knows! I'm looking at: Double Chef Charcoal Smoker, C$79.99 It's character of like a cylinder that stands up. 220 cu inches, 8 qts. charcol dimensions, 60 qt. water jar, 50lb weight size.

I'd love some thoughts from someone who has be smoking for some time.

This would make a fine smoker. I get mine from Wal-Mart it is a Smokey Mountain. Cost $99.00. It uses gas and wood chips. I can turn the heat down and cold smoke Fish or turn it up and do meat. I smoke a lot of Pork ribs (7 hours) and ethnic group are always asking for more.
