Raclette cheese - substitute?

I am wondering if there is any appropriate substitutes for Raclette cheese and what they would be. I live in a smallish rural town and it's really rock-hard to find things like that, but I would really similar to to start entertaining Raclette style again.

Answer:
The best substitutes for Raclette cheese are Tilsit, Gruyère, Comté, Appenzeller, Emmentaler and Morbier. In the book "The Insider's Guide to the Secret World of Raclette Dining" (long title with plenty of information and recipe!) listed as source in attendance are also plenty of other suggestions and of course recipe describing other things you can do with your raclette grill.

Have fun entertaining raclette style again!
Fontina and gruyere make the best substitutions.

In response to Lisa's comment: If she's have trouble finding raclette, how likely is it that she'll find vacherin? I suggested two cheeses that are similar (not equal, I never said that)in taste that are convenient in most areas. Thanks. Maybe you should read the entire put somebody through the mill and keep your insults to yourself.
Vacherin is much closer in weakness than either gruyere and closer contained by both taste and texture than fontina (I am really wondering where on earth Cheffy went to conservatory!)
