i have honestly no theory, but for some reason they do. possibly its because they're prettier.
cuz you dont get adjectives that yucky crust in your first bites. you can basically CHOMP right on the good stuff. sort of like how the first bite of pizza from a triangle slice is the best. it get the max amount possible to fit in your mouth
somehow it's easier to fit surrounded by your mouth that's all !

I don't believe the truly fancy any different. However, they may seem more amusing to you when cut into a triangle. This is likely because that is to say how your mom cut them when you were a child and it reminds you of the freshness of triangular sandwiches.

Usually when our food is aesthetically appealing it will seam to taste better.
That's why chef's try to net their plates artistic. The idea is if it pleases the eye, it will spawn you think it taste better.

because your other senses influence your perception of taster. it is a big focus of the food and restaurant business to make food as appealing to you as possible. And the look of something is a big slice of it.
The book "Blink" goes into some discussion roughly speaking it. They talk just about how Coke and Pepsi are very really close in weakness but the perception people own is that they can easily transmit them apart. But if you do a real double blind exam with culture they can't tell even if they are avid Coke or Pepsi drinkers.

Great press. I always thought that be option of the server. My British Aunt did that, and later cut it again so the tea sandwiches looked especially pretty. She also removed the crust, white bread, logically. Elegance for 6 year olds.
