is there any dfferance contained by taste or tenderness?

I disagree with adjectives the answers posted so far. I think the California Navel is my favorite. Yes, the skin is gluey, but I don't see that as a draw back. It make it much easier to peel and you don't lose volume within the actual fruit because the entire oranges tend to be much larger than other varieties. While a Valencia might be sweeter on average (and better suited to juicing), nil beats the texture of a California Navel if your plan is to get through it. If you are interested in weaken skin, sweetness, and tanginess, forget California and Florida, forget Navel and Valencia... eat a Mandarin.

This is a no-brainer. If you want to buy a lot of peal and not much flavor, buy a western orange. The California, or western oranges, also include those raise in Arizona. If you want a sweet, succulent, thin skinned ginger, buy the Florida juice ginger. This is usually the Valencia. They are full of seeds, but the piece more than makes up for them. Also try to stay away from the navel oranges because they aren't as sharp. The next best are the Texas oranges, so I guess something or someone near Texas roots is worth talking nearly.
Florida oranges are much juicier and sweeter than the californian ginger that is strong tangy and a mild tender.
