For me I have one of two thinking,if it was lately a plate dinner I'd have the choice of:
A cute garden salad
Prime Rib or Lobster tail
Baked potato or Wild rice
Grilled vegetables or Asparagus
Or if I have a buffet,I'd have a soul food subject matter
Fried Chicken,Smothered Pork Chops,BBQ Ribs,Fried Catfish,Red Beans and Rice,Collard Greens,Candied Yams,Macaroni and Cheese,Cabbage,smothered potatoes and lots more
Oh and my wedding cake at any weather it's a plate dinner or a buffet dinner would be this huge chocolate cake with a branch of white chocolate fudge, snickers bars, and chocolate mousse surrounded by it,with pink frosting and my favorite flowers white daisies decorate it!
So what would be yalls ideas?
Answer:
(buffet style, definately) standing rib roast or filet mignon and bacon wrapped stuffed chicken breast....herb roasted potatoes or au gratin potatoes....french onion soup....glazed carrot....green beans with almonds....green dinner salad....fresh fruit kabobs....fresh strawberry pie and a big marriage ceremony cake with strawberries and whip cream frosting....chocolate fountain....ice sculpture....champagne/open bar.
However, I do resembling the soul food theme too but the food is terribly filling and sweet for this particular year....on Sunday's it's perfect.
a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
I'd own to steal your idea of the soul food buffet, that sounds really upright.
Money wasn't an issue at a friend of mines, and what she have was 3 different stations. They be: seafood, soulfood, finger food.
The seafood station was brimful with lobster tail, crab legs, shrimp cooked any way you could mull over of, and fish galore.
The soulfood station was similar to the one you are talking just about. Fried chicken, macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes, pork chops, collard greens, everything!
The finger food be more like Make Your Own Taco and little sandwich and stuff.
And the cake was huge! And it have cupcakes cascading around it contained by a circular form!
I say turn with the soul food matter, cause no event what race or ethnic framework the majority of the guests will be, they will love it!
Congrats, and have fun!
If money were no raise objections.....I would have a Steak and lobster fest. All they needed as long as they wanted. With adjectives the trimmings.Open bar beside champagne on each table.Every table would hold their own waiter.Food cooked to order.Cake would be Champagne cake 4 tires illustrious.Every one would receive a bouquet of flowers as they left the reception.......
A friend of mine had her and the groom's grandmas and aunts spawn the dishes that they were particular for (it was a small town) and explicitly what they had for their marriage ceremony buffet. It was interesting to see the hotchpotch of food and cultures that were here. It was one of the best nuptial dinners I have ever be to.
