i don't think it's tannin any, or bergamont oill as i've researched these - why only tea?
Answer:
you mentioned bergamot grease which is only surrounded by a certain blend of tea, close to earl grey or another blend. There are many other teas that do not enjoy this oil...within is green, white, oolong teas. She should try some of these teas and see if she gets like reaction. If she doesn't, afterwards great. If she does then she's probably allergic to the plant camelia sinensus because adjectives real teas come from this plant. The difference within black, white, green, and oolong is in the oxidation of the leaves.
There are other teas (that aren't indisputable teas) which come from different plants (roobis and honeybush are examples). She might try these or some of the herbal teas (camomile is one).
good luck from a tea lover.
I am a life long tea drinker and can manipulate most teas, however, there is some teas that I simply don't like such as plain ole black tea or decaf. A apposite tea to try is orange-black pekoe or English Breakfast.
Also make sure your river is clean, sometimes stroke water that have alot of chlorine can make tea soft spot bad.

Tea is just boiling river poured over the dried leaves of plants, so it must be something in the tea plants that is to say affecting her. Herbal teas don't contain the same ingredients really as they are made from non traditional plants, so conceivably if she tries those she can still enjoy tea.
