I heard that 2 kids died after drinking mentos with coke. Is it true ?

It won't kill in cold blood anyone but I let some guys that work for me try the "mentos surrounded by the coke" experiment in the parking lot at work and I saw it pretty much explode beside my own eyes. Pretty neat trick.

combined i dont know , but separately too they are poisonous.. coke contains a lot of carbon ihn it, which is poison for our vigour... & mint in excess is fruitless
Sounds approaching an urban myth that anyone would die from eating Mentos and Coke although I be at a Blue Man Group show last weekend and they put like mad of Mentos in a bottle of Coke and it did do it to fizz up a lot.
I don't know about dying, but if you drop a tube of mentos into abottle of coke (warm diet works the best) it cause a reaction that make the coke fizz. The coke erupts out of the bottle like a volcano. I cant create in your mind this would kill you, but it would probably pass you a pretty upset stomach!
i havent hear of anyone killed from it but the mentos does basis a reaction beside diet coke that causes it to foam up.
I dont know if its true, i got an email dictum that too.Although, it may not be true, adding mentos to coke does produce a chemical reaction(all that fizz).Anyway, coke isnt accurate for ur health.Try drinking fruit liquid or milk and milk milkshakes.
On Mythbusters, they tested respectively ingredient of the diet coke to see if they had a contributing effect on the hostile response. They found that almost all ingredients contributed to it - thus diet coke's combination of ingredients worked the "best" but other sodas would work also. They also determined that the coating of the Mentos - which have very small dimples (think golf ball) which allows the CO2 little areas to "settle into" and once the threshold is hit, forces the CO2 out of the bottle angrily.
I enjoy also seen that email but I really don't know its true or not, society who can really clarify that is from citizens in Brazil as this originate from there
