In the upscale nouns of my city, there is almost a Starbucks on "every corner." There is a "trueism" that may be at play here. It is, "The sophisticated the price, the more some people want the product." Is that the armour here? If Starbucks sold their coffee for $1.00 per cup, would you still "love to go to Starbucks?"

Well, what I regard as many associates are paying the extra $ for is the chance to sit down within a nice quiet place, listen to some worthy music (coffeehouses often showcase unusual or emerging artists any live or on CD and sometimes supply the CDs too), tap away at their laptops, chat next to friends, read the paper, only be taken out of their own home or office for awhile.
Coffeehouses enjoy a centuries-old tradition of being places where on earth people bring together, and for good defence. You can read for hours and no-one bothers you, or you can meet up and hold conversations. And some nice waitperson comes and takes away your used cup and wash it (please tip them! they're working hard!)
All i.e. sure worth an extra $2 on top of $1's worth of coffee to me. Take-out, not so much.
Personally I love Cafe Nero (branches contained by the UK) which has comfy leather chairs and well-mannered strong plain black 'Americano' coffee, which is a double espresso topped up with steaming wet, but as to add-ins, well, duration would be dull if we all have the same nibble, now wouldn't it?

Great question, I similar to the vanilla latte and it is more than $3.50. That's why I have them occasionally, and I penny-pinching very occasionally. Probably one every 3 or 4 months, drives me crazy to discharge that much for coffee. My lunches at work are usually around $4.00!!

I savour their specialty drinks (white chocolate mocha and frappuccinos) that you can't necessary return with everywhere. I don't go everyday, it's a treat. It's resembling going to Marble Slab, Cold Stone Creamery or Maggie Moo's for ice cream. You income $5 or $6 for a cone of ice cream, but it's apt and you want it.
I hope they become cheaper. I think they piece much better than regualr coffee.
It's all a issue of opinion and nouns. I go to Starbucks every morning, for several reason. I don't want to have to dirty up my coffee pot every morning, when I lone want one cup a day. They be paid it just the opening I like it; I don't enjoy to add anything to it. The general public are friendly, and it's always nice to see a friendly frontage early within the morning, since my husband's not a morning person! :-) I guess the money point is an issue for some, fortunately it's not for me.

I don't enjoy flavors or whipped cream because I do approaching the taste of strong coffee. I own a lot to do every daytime and usually not enough time or heartiness to do it, and it helps to own a Starbuck's. Plus they have drive-up window and I spend much of my time in my van driving my kids around.

The reason they charge so much is also the idea of our economy: supply and constraint. It isn't that they charge alot so people want it...it's that society want it, so they charge alot. Starbucks does cost a lot yes, but contained by comparison to the cup of coffee I could buy for 89p the taste is basically much better, why buy a crap tasting coffee when you can buy a clothed tasting coffee. It's not a moment ago Starbucks, I love Cafe Nero and also Costa Coffee, just the talent of it is better. I can't afford to pay out for one every daytime but it's good for a treat. It's nice to be served beside a smile and as it is such a rare treat for me it other feels similar to I am spoiling myself.

starbucks is a cultural phenomenon. i used to work at a coffee shop until that time starbucks became huge, so i get the message about relations enjoying coffee made assorted ways. in some areas, relatives have no other option for "decent" coffee unless they learn to kind it themselves which isnt always an alternative. in most areas, though, you could support a local coffee house which usually hold cheaper prices and better drinks. in my feelings, most people shift to starbucks to buy into the elitism that starbucks personifies. starbucks charges more because they know those will be willing to compensate the higher price.
