There are essentially two definitions of a barista. The starbucks barista is the nonspecific term of a personage who works at starbucks that is not a principal, owner, supervisor or an administrator. The difference is in retribution. A barista is also the one who makes the drinks. Other coffee shops bid their coffee makers baristas and their brilliancy is determined on how capably they can tap espresso. I be a barista at starbucks and at another coffee shop, so thats how I know :)

It's the person at Starbucks coffee who certainly makes your espresso drink. :)
starbucks does not hold baristas. well, they do, but not true ones. a true barista is skilled contained by espresso art, and knows how to verbs a perfect shot of espresso. starbucks uses crappy super automatic machines, which transport all of the art out of espresso drinks. i'll bet nearby is not a starbucks employee out within who can make a floating latte.
