Curious. I've never noticed a bitter almond essence. Bitter almonds are usually associated with cyanide, not dr. pepper. My suggestion is not to drink your dr. pepper, for either a) you don't approaching it, or b) someone is poisoning you, and you should RUN! Seriously, though, some people close to it, some don't. Don't drink it.
I don't predilection any bitter almonds in my Dr Pepper. Maybe someone have poisoned your DP with cyanide?
