Why is soda sold within a 6 pack?

I am looking to understand why soda is produced within 6 packs vs. sold contained by 8 packs? or 4 pack? What is/was the driving factor to make them that size?

Answers:
Most items used to be sold within dozens or multiple of dozens. A "slab" of drinks is usually two dozen (24). Which neatly pack 4 six packs into a 6*4 can effortlessly handleable slab. Incidently a 6 pack fits neatly into the bottom of a mover bag.

So tradition set the number and ergonomics set the dimensions.

P.S. Some beer comes contained by four packs which also pack into alike size slabs, especially in europe.

I'm not sure...maybe they sold it surrounded by packs of 6 because of the standard 4 party family, next to 2 left over for accident, or guests.

Well, they are now sold within 12 and 24 packs so why does it issue.

12 ounce [US, liquid] = 0.354 882 356 liter x 6 = 2.1 liters

Cause its duplicate as buying a 2 liter!

lead to its like beer for kids. lol.

because it's partially a dozen
