It really, really does taste better out of a china cup (or mug). I reckon it's the width of the rim. China is so limited, so the mouth doesn't have to be so 'open' as you drink. With mugs, the rims are so general, your lips are further apart, so you loose a great deal of the taste. Plastic cups, whilst have a thin rim, enjoy a hollow rim, so as well as getting that foul plastic taste, you drink to the nouns of gurgling (as the liquid get stuck in the rim). It also cools down quicker. A polystyrene cup is a short time ago awful to drink tea out of. The whole texture of the item is dreadful. It's like drinking tea out of a knit woollen sock!
By now, you will own realised that I haven't really got a clue - but I be on a role so just carried on regardless!
Personally, I drink my tea out of a china mug and I hatred drinking out of anything else!
