I've been trying to find out what quality of food the ancient Celtics ate, but they were such a various culture all I've academic is that all the information out at hand is about the Irish Celts.
I want to know going on for the ancient Welsh people (around 600 AD, but any time interval a thousand or more years ago will do.) Both diet staples and specific foods.

Barley, rye, wheat, oats, carrots, garlic, rampant fruits- cherries and berries, wild greens, unreserved animals, fish, possibly mutton and lamb. Edited- Well, they had to munch through what was around, and i.e. what was around surrounded by 600 A.D. in Gaul(France) or the British Isles at that time. I believe there's no transcript of forbidden foods, like pork, but pork be more eastern. Of course, you've heard of Welsh rabbit.
