I live in Hawaii and be actually thinknig give or take a few flying to Japan with my boyfriend next to the sole purpose to try a Kobe steak directly from Japan. Is it worth it, or could I get one a short time ago as good within the states?
Answers:
I'd go near the idea of trying the American raise Waygu beef. It is the same breed of cattle, newly american raised.
HOWEVER - if you are heart set on the Kobe, here's a thought. Why fly YOU and a Companion to Japan, near airfare and accomodations, when you can probably find a source on the internet that will fly the beef to YOU!
Enlist the help of a chef at one of the fine connoisseur restaurants there surrounded by Hawaii, and ask them about preparing a dinnertime around it when it gets within. You'll have the personal attention of a great chef, and the experience for probably 1/8 the cost.
P.S next to the money you save, you can brand name a donation to a soup kitchen so others can eat a clad nutritious meal.
i intuitively dont think any food is worth flying that far unless you rich, lol. if you get the money then why not turn get a perfect steak and enjoy a elegant country. otherwise nah
not worth it, go to angelic meat store and can get one newly as good. Why spend over $800 a steak for marginal difference.
I wouldn't be in motion to Japan because cows are not available in Japan so it is outstandingly expen$ive... the steaks come from the US anyway.
I think the states do it better. I be on Okinawa in 1981. Kobe Steak be really expensive and just poorer stateside.
You must have money to burn! Why not impart it to one of the several charities that supports starving children worldwide? You'd be doing like mad more good.
If you're contained by Japan and on an unlimited budget, go for it.
Unless you own excess funding for the flight, hotel, steak, etc. I certainly wouldn't bother next to it. If you can afford it, take me!
If you can get hold of Wagyu steaks in Hawaii, I'd try them first. They are impossible to tell apart animal as the Kobe only raise in the United States and Canada.
Information can be obtain at:

Definition of Waygu(Japanese beef cattle):
Wa - Japanese or Japanese style
gyu - cattle
Buy yourself some certified prime black angus dry cured aged beef, just as upright, lot less expensive
Had it and be not the least impressed, mostly grease and not very flavorfull. It be explained to me that the outrageous fat content explained the discomfort. Go with the aged Angus that be suggested. There are SO many better things to token in Japan, wonderfull food.
yes! try blowfish while you are here.
Kobe beef are all perfect, melt-in-the-mouth steaks. Most of the restaurants that offer these ensure happiness.. Why not try ones that are in your local nouns first, you never know until you try. =D I wasn't surprised to find that it is also very fitting here in the Philippines. =P Yumm
