I live in London, and we enjoy many Asian takeaways, but amazingly few eat-in Chinese or Japanese cuisine restaurants. Is there a function for this? Is this just a British entity, or do other countries notice a shortage surrounded by their cities too? Do people consider ethnic cuisine in haste food, as opposed to foodie food?
(I love tofu/bean curd!)

It might just be a British point. Everywhere I have lived within California, Asian restaurants have sit down dining as in good health as take out or assignment, sometimes. In fact, the individual restaurants I can think of that solely have filch out are cheap pizza restaurants (like Domino's and Little Caesar's). Even almost every fast food restaurant have table seating.
I muse it might just be a cultural point. Here, when people reason of fast food they presume of hamburgers. Ethnic food is less commonly eat here than in London, so for copious people it is an occasional treat. In the small town I used to live contained by, the best restaurant in town be an ok but not great Chinese restaurant.
We have plenty of eat-in Asian restaurants within Las Vegas, but maybe because those society make up a giant percentage of the population here - just look at the dealer on the strip. Also many big $ high-rollers are Asian, so the bigger resorts adjectives offer Asian cuisine within a fine-dining atmosphere. Plenty of stand-alone off-strip eat-in ones too.
It must be the area you are surrounded by, or it may be England in common (I live in USA). The town I live within used to be that way, but over the end ten years, we have gotten frequent more ethnic sit down restaurants-Tibetan, Japanese, Chinese (soo much better than 'fast food' Chinese), Thai.all kind of goodies. Try looking in your surrounding towns. If other ethnic restaurants contained by the area gain good business, probably they will open some contained by London. You could always try making your own home made ethnic cuisine, too. =) There are lots of unproblematic, fun recipes out near!
