Well having be in the Peace Corps within the Sahara region of West Africa, I would have to utter desert cuisine is not so good. Let me know what you feel of these examples: goat head served adjectives on a plate, rancid butter, camel meat, fermented milk (from a goat/camel/cow), millet and milk, and a very fixed supply of vegetables or fruit.

In some places they bury eggs for some months, agree to them rot really, really bad, and later eat them. In those places it is a intricacy and called belue(?). Disgusting.
I saw a point on TV once talking in the region of cheese in Europe. There be this one cheese where they purposefully have maggots growing in/on it and ate it that way. Talk more or less NASTY!
