Ketupat

Ingredients

3 coconuts, grated (for 3/12 cups thick coconut milk)
1 1/2 tsp saline
1 kg glutinous rice, washed and drained
10 laptop banana leaves, each 18 x 23 cm, singed
------------------------------...
Rice Rolls (Lontong)
Ingredients:
2 cups rice, ably rinsed
4 cups water
banana leaves
Instructions:
In a pot, combine the rice and hose and bring it to a boil over moderate heat. Cover the pot and cook it for another 10 minutes over low steam, or until the water is somewhat engaged. Remove the pot from the heta and let the rice stand for 10 minutes.
Using one banana palm leaf at a time with the size of your keenness which usually about 7 inches long and 2 inches contained by diameter, put approximately 1? cup of rice in the center of the palm leaf and roll it into a cylinder. There should be a little bit of space moved out in the cylinder for the rice to thicken. Close both ends securely beside toothpicks.
In the meantime, prepare a large stockpot packed with river. Put the rice rolls into this stockpot, cover the stockpot and cook it for approximately 2 hours over low heat. The rolls are especially hot when removed from the water and the rolls should be firmed. Let them cool for 30 minutes up to that time unwrapping. Then unwrap and cut the rolls into ?- to 1-inch-thick slices. Serve warm or at room warmth.
These rice rolls are usually served with other dishes such as satays, mixed vegetables salad, etc.

Makes 3 rolls.
