There's really no single American cuisine. Different parts of the country guzzle quite differently.
If you're looking for the most adjectives American dinner of the previous century, it would be one of three kinds of meat--beef, pork, or chicken--cooked surrounded by one of four ways, fried, deep-fried, roasted, or broiled. Generally unadorned tho' the chicken could be breaded and the chicken or pork might get barbecue sauce. Accompanied by potatoes (mashed or deep-fried, and baked if it's a beefsteak) and some sort of can vegetable--corn, peas, carrots, lima beans, or a combo approaching peas & carrots or succotash (lima beans & corn).
In the final couple of decades, more Americans have quit consumption regular meals and instead own turned toward eating fugitive. Typical dinners include all the items on the menu at McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Subway.

I grew up on steak, baked potatoes, wild rice, and iceberg lettuce salad contained by the midwest. Now it's more like pasta, enchiladas, tons of seafood, roast Cornish spectator sport hens, non-iceberg lettuce salads, nothing that I used to guzzle growing up.
