We keep ours within a tin with an airtight lid contained by the cupboard under the sink. As it's so humid here within the summer, we keep one of these small disposable dehumidifiers surrounded by the tin.
I've never come across anyone keeping it in the freezer. Sacrilegious.

Rice should be stored within tightly secured containers in cool place (dark cupboard etc). This prevents moisture and insect infestation.
If you buy rice within bulk, freeze it for three days to kill any weevil or insect eggs. Transfer the contents into tightly secured jar, and store in cool place.
Brown rice is outstandingly different than the white rice from storage point of view. Brown rice have oils that can like a shot become rancid as they are oxidized. Preferably brown rice should be stored in the refrigerator.

I keep mine surrounded by the freezer. It stays very fresh this route. There's never an issue of too much moisture if you keep it within something air tight. It seem to cook perfectly every time too.

Uncooked rice should be store in a dry and roofed container or bag so moisture or other unwanted objects cannot procure to it. Cooked rice can be stored in nouns tight container inside the fridge for up to a week or so. When you want to eat it again, you can sprinkle somewhat water on it in the past you microwave it and it will become soft and yummy again.
I would never buy big sacks of rice as they can contain cockroach eggs. I have someone living with me who used to buy the big sack of rice and a few weeks after they left, i saw a cockroach contained by the kitchen. I called the council out and they told me that be the reason, the eggs can be surrounded by the large sack of rice, i only have the one, i will never have big loads of rice in the house ever again, thats the most adjectives reason apparently.
