Octopus is chewy and tastes for a moment fishy, I only have it once, or was that Squid, I don't bring to mind, but it wasn't to my liking.

If it's properly done, char broiled octopus is crunchy on the outside, succulent contained by the middle. The problem is that most people screw it up and curl up with a chewy mess.
If you are ever surrounded by Chicago, The Greek Islands Restaurant on S.Halsted makes great grilled octopus- the rest of their menu is appropriate too.
In NYC the Astoria section of Queens have some good Greek restaurants. Stop by Titan Foods which is on 30th st , below the el and ask them who's good
DELICIOUS! Mild, a tiny bit like the the deep if it's good, and the texture is a bit chewy - not like gnaw a superball or anything, just for a moment resistance to the tooth.
It depends on how you prepare it. How long you cook it. Its tang like the squid or cuttlefish. Get one and try it yourself to find out. Sweet, chewy, nice.

exceedingly good - depending on the preperation! grilled and sushi are okay but my favorite.... boiled next chilled and served with an olive grease, lemon, white wine base, feta cheese, beets, cucumbers and fresh pita bread!

it depends on the cook's ability to prepare it. usually, it is kinda chewy, but can be really dutiful.
Pretty angelic - kinda fishy but not too bad. I have baby ones reflective fried - they were apt.
