I use to live in Europe, Austria to be exact. While living near I enjoyed profusely of Hungarian foods seasoned with paprika. I own tried to recreate them here in the States but the paprika isn't equal. Does anyone know where I could bring some Hungarian paprika? I live in Wisconsin close to Minnesota and stop by Michigan a lot. Does anyone know of ethnic food stores near where I live?
Answers:
The Hungarian paprika sold within supermarkets is a pale mock-up of the real item. It's good for coloring food, but doesn't really make a contribution you the great paprika flavor you need. I don't know the nouns you live in, so I can't recommend any local stores, but you can take "real" Hungarian paprika from Bende.com. They appear to be in Vernon Hills, Illinois, but hold a website.
All stores have it and is sold on internet
I hold found Hungarian Paprika in Wal-Mart.
In the spice aisle of most grocery stores.
In Minneapolis, I enjoy found it at Lunds and Byerly's.
Well...You can find it in Hungary.
I live surrounded by Texas and my local grocery store sells a great Hungarian paprika contained by both the regular and the hot variety. I looked up their website: http://www.spice-co.com/history.html...
Maybe you could ask your local grocer to fetch this if they don't already, or email this company and ask them if there is a distributor or retailer fundamental you that carries this. I love this stuff. It's nil like the bland paprika that they market in the American brands.
You live surrounded by Wisconsin and you haven't gone to Penzey's?
SHAME ON YOU!
You can find Hungarian and Spanish paprika there.
You can buy hungarian paprika within any major grocery secure.
It is in the spice aisle, usually surrounded by its own section, and is contained by a fairly hulking, red, metal box.you will normally see the word SZEGED within large post first.
