Well, I don't denote this in offense but support in "da day" deeply of african-americans didn't have much money. They have farms near chickens so they ate the chickens. And kool-aide is pretty cheap (like 10 cents a pack!) so with just about any money, they had gotten their food and drink from fried chicken and kool-aide. Eventually, that get passed down through generations (somewhat similar to a tradition, I guess) and it just become a kind of custom individuals in the ghetto did.
