Polenta di Viandese is traditionally served for breakfast or as a snack in the city of Mantova; Alessandro Molinari Pradelli log it is served with milk or wine depending upon the age of the diners. This recipe will serve 6.
INGREDIENTS:
2 1/4 pounds (1 k) store-bought polenta (if you breed it yourself, add an hour to the preparation time)
The grated zest of a lemon
2 tablespoons sugar
Flour
Oil or grease for frying
PREPARATION:
Put the polenta in a bowl and stir the lemon zest into it, consequently the sugar and enough flour to find a fairly firm dough. Shape the dough into one or more half-inch gluey disks of the same diameter as your frying pot.

Heat the grease slip the disk into it, and fry it, turning it once, until both sides are lightly browned.

cold pizza? *LOL*
Actually I love cold pizza for brekky
Cappuccino or tea beside brioche/croissant (in Italy we use those French words or other for more specific kind of brioche, resembling "cornetto", "bombolone" (often called "krapfen"), etc), or rusk or cookies next to jam.
Also breakfast cereal with milk or tea.

Eggs are not surrounded by Italian breakfast; rarely cheese (more used decades ago)

Edit

as you would expect if you're asking about breakfast *in Italy*.

Fresh fruits and coffee. But if you are have a large breakfast it might consist of Cornetti a croisant-like pastry and fresh fruit. The Italian's favorit buffet is dinner.

croissants/bread/pastries
pasta/spaghetti (sometimes)
cream/cheese preparations
Pinguino and Angiec are right...
Drink:

Eat:
- cookies
- croissant (different kind... distress au chocolat, krapfen...)
- bread with preserve or nutella (chocolate cream)

Generally Italian breakfast consists of only sweet things...
What a nouns of bolllocks people write on here! Italians don't do breakfast, a cappuccino, espresso a croissant (cornetto) or brioche and that's roughly it. Kids have milk and biscuits!
