Actually Nasi Lemak means "fatty rice" surrounded by Malay. Nasi Lemak is a Malay/Malaysian (and some say Singaporean) cuisine. The rice is cooked beside coconut milk and/or pandan leaves (to enhance the aroma). They're usually eaten surrounded by the morning, and you can get it at Nasi Lemak stalls by the roadside, and even at Mamak restaurants (Indian immigrant restaurants) everywhere contained by Malaysia and Singapore (not sure about Brunei or Indonesia).

It's tastiness is usually judge by the spicy Sambal (a fried mixture of chillis, shallots, and tamarind). It's eaten near boiled/fried eggs, fried anchovies, peanuts, and cucumber. Though you can choose to eat it near other stuff as well; usually fried chicken/fish. This also depends on what's added to the sambal. There's different types of Sambals, Sambal Sotong (Sambal beside squid/cuttlefish), Sambal Ayam (Sambal with chicken), Sambal Udang (Sambal beside shrimp), etc.

It's a must eat food item if you're within Malaysia/Singapore! Goes great with Teh Tarik (sweet, frothy tea next to condensed milk), hot or iced =)
