Tahini is sesame paste... Most supermarkets (check your local Kroger) supply JOYVA brand and it's usually stocked in the flour/baking aisle. The sesame pulp is in give or take a few a 3" high can by 4" diameter round. I believe the can is white, brown and ginger... see link below for picture of the can.
Many places.Even Fiesta(off katy freeway@echo lane) has Tahini.Look surrounded by their middle eastern section.There is Phoenecia Imports (by Westheimer and Kirkwood) Or Droubis on Hillcroft and Westheimer.
Most large grocery chains get tahini, or try Whole Foods.
If not, try Greek or Middle Eastern stores.

Tahini is sesame seed blend. Sesame paste go rancid very promptly.
For a better hummus, although not as authentic, try almond or cashew butter. (ground almonds or cashews).
I sort hummus all the time. I create mine with peanut butter and sesame grease. It's just around the same item. Give it a try !

You can find Hummus in the import food section of most better grocery stores and surrounded by all healthfood stores along near any stores that sell middle eastern food products. I live surrounded by BFE West Virginia and I can get it at Kroger's and the Healthfood store.
