What is typical American cuisine? Does it exist?

Here in Europe adjectives countries have their traditional cuisine (excpet UK and Netherlands, their food svck, lol)

Yes, it exists.

there are few true american cuisines. americans do consider mac and cheese, collard greens and corn bread as true american foods. I also ponder barbecue might fall into that category but I doubt they come up with the concept..possibly they invented the sauce.
America--although I contemplate you're referring specifically to the United States--has plenty of "typical" cuisine. The real Question is, Does the United States enjoy any ORIGINAL cuisine.

The answer to that is "no". Certainly not tremendously much, anyway. The US is/was commonly referred to as the great "melting pot" of the world, and that's exactly what we've get. Almost every dish I can think of, that you'd find surrounded by a Typical American Home (or restaurant) can trace it's roots to some other country. The dishes prepared here may not be exact replicas, but that's mostly because of availability of ingredients.

Getting your hands on "exotic" ingredients isn't too knotty nowadays, but dream up about your ancestors who immigrated here hundreds of years ago. If your great-grandmother required to make broccoli rabe, she would own had a really strong time getting rapini in the US. There be no Wegman's, and definitely no internet. There may own been "post order", but nothing resembling the express shipping we have presently. So, your grandma would probably have substituted regular broccoli.

Of course, plenty of dishes be INVENTED in the US, but even those own obvious foreign roots. General Tso's Chicken, a popular entree at (American) Asian reatuarants, is openly influenced by Chinese cuisine. But it was invented here.

Many of the food styles that are considered indigenous, close to Cajun and Creole cooking, actually hold their roots in---of all places---Canada. The word "Cajun" is in truth a mispronunciation of "Acadian", which refers to French pilgrims who settled in parts of Canada. They eventually migrated to the Deep South (USA), and brought their food influences beside them.
Why are other countries habitually so snobbish about English food? Its approaching any other type of food in the world. If cooked properly it can nibble delicious and if cooked feebly can taste disgusting.
There are plenty of traditional U.K. cuisines that are tempting.
Unlike most other European countries we have embrace international cuisine without snobbishness or suspicion; down my road contained by the city there are two Mexican resturants, one Indian, one Portugeuse, one Morrocon, one Jamaican, one traditional Engish, two Italian restaurants and one Lebanese. One of my previous housemates from France continually ridiculed my cooking which I took pride contained by and food I ate because I was English, even though he'd never tried any of my cooking or any English food - while he prepared his day after day meal of Spaghetti and Tomato ketchup. It be really arrogant and rude.
BBQ. There is zilch else like it contained by the world. Here in Germany, my neighbors categorically crave ribs and steaks. I even get American sauces for my friends becuase they love it so much.
I have to budge with hamburgers and hotdogs too..
And logically apple pie..
There isn't one, unless you consider the Native foods American cuisine. Things resembling cornbread, pinto beans, squash, chiles and so on are American all the course. Our foods are the only ones that weren't dragged over from somewhere else, really.
You got pot roast, Boston Baked Beans, Jambalaya, Pecan Pie, Apple Pie, Fried Chicken, Waldorf salad, Cornbread Actually heaps different cultures went into making what Americans are particular to eat as favorites, also appropriate into consideration the regional cuisines of America, the Southwest is not like the East or the North or the South, respectively is original and respectively has be infused by different cultures.

I consider the entire Thanksgiving feast to be more American than anything else, that funds turkey and the trimmings.
