Preferences on the amounts of each ingredient vary according to taste and region. I usually blend my own but stick near the "standard" seasonings of Oregano, Basil, Rosemary, Thyme, Sage and Marjoram.
I usually use onion/garlic in the saute process... Maybe incorporate a bit more as the meal cooks for a stronger flavor (again according to preference) added beside some parsely and fresh ground pepper.
Garlic, onion, basil, and oregano are my bare bones for Italian.
