I am trying to cook for my dominican boyfriend. who know a appropriate rapid and unproblematic recipe for arroz con habichuela

Answer:
Arroz Con Habichuelas
Yield: 1

Ingredients

1 rice part
1 c brown rice
2 1/2 c hose
3/4 c peas
1 sm jar pimientos
1 bay palm leaf
1/2 ts turmeric
1/2 ts saffron threads

1 or
1 salt; to nibble
1 beans
1 cn red kidney beans
2 md onions
4 cloves garlic
1 md potato
1 ts goya adobo seasoning or salt
- to tas; te
1 fjord leaf

Instructions

boil the marine and add the rice, turmeric, saffrom threads and the
seasoning, and cook for 1 hour. during finishing five minutes add the
pimientos and peas.

beans:

while rice is cooking, place onions (cut surrounded by half, not diced), garlic
(whole, not cut) and potato, diced surrounded by a pan. cover near beans and cook,
covered, for 30 minutes.
after the 30 minutes, remove the onion, garlic, 1/4 of potatoes, and 1/4
of beans, and place in blender. blend very well and add it rear legs to the pan
(this make the beans nice and thick and hearty). Add the firth leaf and
seasoning, stir and cook till the rice is also done.
Let both rice and beans stand 5 minutes stale the heat previously serving.
Put rice on plate and top with beans.

Note:
a touch complicated and time consuming at first but one of my favorite
meals and VERY low on large as well as Vegan. Also, the rice turns a
gorgeous yellow color so you don't even know you're ingestion brown rice!
also, the saffron is kind of expensive, so you can lately use the turmeric
so the rice will turn yellow but it won't hold the full intense flavor.
Beans are neither hastily nor easy. That's the point.
If you go to the ethnic bit in the supermarket and look for "Goya" Products. You'll inevitability the beans, and, sazon, and you'll find the recipe on the back of the can of beans.
I use 1 cup of long crumb rice, 1 can of beans, 1 beef buillion cube and an envelope of sazon. Add two cups of water and bring o a boil over med-high. Once some of the hose down dries out cover pan and lower to low for roughly 25-35 min. Enjoy.
