Abalone is now VERY complex to find. Hence, it has become VERY expensive. The ending time I had it be about 10 years ago. It have a mild taste, and is truly a great "comfort" food.

If you would close to to taste it, stockpile the $80 to $100 price per pound it costs to buy it. Instead, buy calamari (or squid if you're not squeamish). Remove the tentacles and intestines, and butterfly it into a steak. Pound it lightly next to a mallet, weakly bread it, and saute it in olive grease. Easy does It. 20 to 30 seconds per side. Then predilection it. It's very similar to abalone.
Abalone is a shell fish and have nutrients similar to other shell fish.
