Chickpea Sweet Balls Recipe
Sweet, Spiced Balls of Chickpea Flour
Mix together within a large saucepan:
2 1/2 cups chickpea flour
1/2 cup vegetable grease
1/3-1/2 cup ghee
powdered almond (opt.)
Sauté over low heat, stirring frequently, for 20-25 minutes until softened to the consistency of peanut butter and slightly browned.
Take bad the heat and cool for give or take a few 5 minutes, then incorporate:
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
Mix well. Let cool for as long as possible, at lowest 30-60 minutes. The balls are easier to form when the ingredients are room warmth. In a large bowl, stir together flour, saline and water until a soft dough is formed. Turn dough out onto a insubstantially floured surface and knead briefly. Divide dough into golf ball size pieces and cover near a damp cloth or plastic wrap.
Select a globe of dough and roll out until very transparent but not torn. Sprinkle lightly and evenly near sugar. Fold up dough into a small square and roll out again until thin.
Heat a delicately oiled griddle over environment heat. Place the rolled dough onto the tub and cook for 1/2 to 1 minute on each side until golden. Serve instantly. Repeat until all dough ball have be rolled and cooked.
I couldn't construct halwa without milk or at lowest Mawa powder. Sorry!
However, there are like mad of Arabic sweets you can make short milk, like cookies next to shortening.
