Why are most sushi places surrounded by LA closed contained by the afternoon?

Ive noticed that most sushi restaurants contained by los angeles are closed between 3 and 6 and then re-open for dinner. does anyone know why??

Answer:
I used to believe it was a cultural piece (like how the Spanish have siestas) until I lived contained by Japan. It's funny that they do that here, because in Japan they tend to be enlarge the whole time close to any other restaurant.

They probably figure that since only just anyone has really belated lunches or really early dinners, they a short time ago close shop for a while and take a break.
That's when they go fishing.
My guess is that a slim crowd between 3 and 6 PM do not warrant paying hourly employees to be near, just contained by case.
I noticed that too, but within Houston. When i came surrounded by during the afternoon i found the manager and hosts naping within the booths. I guess for them business is slow in the afternoon
We're all still on the Freeway.
i noticed this also contained by turlock calif i walked into a sushi place at 3pm within afternoon this week and they were playing a winter sport like dominos on the table and said they be closed till 5 pm...seems approaching a weird channel to run a business??
