Substitute for sweet sixteen cake?

At my sweet 16 I don't want a cake. So far I've thought of making individual, mini ice-cream (cup)cakes for everyone or renting a chocolate fountain.

Which one or any other suggestions?

Answer:
Oh, I think both are excellent accepted wisdom. People like things that they can do themselves beside a minimum of muss and fuss, so a chocolate fountain would satisfy that. If you agree to everyone create their own ice cream sundaes, that would be fun, too.

(-: If it's a March birthday, you could enjoy a Mad Hatter Tea Party. There's a big slice of dessert at every place setting (each one is different) and a mini-pot of tea (again, all different). People sit down at disorganized, have one bit of dessert and one splash of tea. Then (bringing their spoon and cup along) everyone moves one place setting over. Again, one bite and one sip, and verbs to the next one. Everyone get to try a bite of everything, and it's kind of wacky to be moving down the table.
I bake cake, so I was wondering own you seen the cupcakes that look similar to hamburgers, they are really cool. Go to www.cakecentral.com type in hamburger cupcakes within the search box, you'll see several. By the agency Happy Birthday.
I would progress with the cup cake!
My kids love the huge cookie cake. Cupcakes are a great idea and at stores resembling Walmart, you can buy a stand that lets you arrange them contained by tiers. I love chocolate fountains. You can make a regular white or wan cake and tear it into pieces to be dipped into the chocolate. One year, my daughter didn't want a cake, but needed chocolate chip cookies. I bought 2 boxes of mix. I made tons of cookies and made one kinda large one that I bedecked with her label and stuck a candle in it. I freshly piled them all on a platter. Everyone loved it.
the chocolate fountain is a great idea lots of fun dippers to choose from so adjectives your guests should have a yummy time
