I love having dinner party. Now that summer is almost here, I'm looking for some new thinking. (Themes, recipes, get-together favors, games, drinks, etc.). This would be for a group of adults. Please share your ideas and/or books that will hand over me some inspiration!

Have Christmassy decorations, imitation snow, play "dirty Santa," decorate a palm tree beside lights, make frozen hot chocolate served within red and green mugs, play Christmas music, have a fruitcake wander, have someone dress up within a Santa hat and beard but enjoy on a tank-top and Bermuda shorts, hang mistletoe and play reindeer games!

Try a luau gala! Order some pizza, serve some fruits and cocktails, have a hula contest.
Also you can try a bbq near beer or wine, make an aged west decoration.
And another thought could be a karaoke party!

How more or less a tapas party? Make several different tapas style dishes and mix a few pitchers of sangria. This would work great for an outdoor deck/backyard group, and would give you more time near your guests and less time spent within the kitchen since some of them could be made ahead of time.

Pizza on the grill can be a fun and interesting BBQ option for your free summer party, not to mention the shocked look on your friends face when you place a pizza on your grill. I use a higher point frozen pizza and place it on a HOT clean grill. From time to time you will entail to spin the pizza around on the grill (Do Not Flip) to avoid hot spots or burning. While cooking, keep the lid closed to cook the top of the pizza. I found that a homemade BBQ chicken pizza lend itself to the grill nicely because it picks up the smoky grill flavor and go great with margaritas and Coronas.
Have a piniata (not sure if that's the spelling,miserable I know) for the adults that have little bottles of liquor,plastic ones! We did that it be fun!

I bought coconut cups from target for the tropical flavored rime tea; the cup doubles as the party favor. menu: contract chicken salad and fried wontons with mango sauce.
In august, we are doing a mardi gras issue dinner party near the traditional mardi gras colors, beads, mask, jambalaya and fried chicken.
