If she's "girly", try something shaped like a piece of jewelry and formulate the frosting the color of Tiffany's boxes. If she likes music, form a cake that looks like an ipod.

Get a cake from the bakery beside her picture on it. Take one of her really nice pictures, or her favorite picture of herself to the bakery. My sister did that for my niece, for her graduation party. They have to sneak the picture out of the house, so that she would be surprised.
A butterfly?..It depends on the girl obviously but like most 15 year olds it only just needs to chew really good! Don't mind roughly the shape! My birthday was a few days ago and what is really apt is you make chocolate cake and cloak it with lots of pudding after serve with rime cream...it is divine! but if this 15 year old like butterflies thats ok too!
for my fifteenth birthday, i go to my local grocery store about a week formerly the party and ordered a cake from the bakery. i get to customize every aspect of it. so i had marble cake near cream cheese icing and strawberries in the middle. it be delicios and everyone loved it! the top was white because of the cream cheese icing, beside pink accents (around the edges, the writing). for in the region of $5 extra, i brought a picture that i wanted on it. i presume they scan the pic and put it on edible quality newspaper or something. the texture isnt wierd and it has no taster. plus, it doesnt trim off
but next to your idea, a butterfly cake would be pretty too. bring in it with her favorite colors and flavors
Don't do a butterfly. Make it like your favorite color of frosting.. Or if u ar have a swimin pool party bring in the cake a swimin pool with chairs nation and stuff. Or if u r a rocker make approaching a giant guitar on ypur cake or if u r in any open-handed of sport u like. Put that on your cake. i am not an expert but these concept will totally work for a teenager. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Girls that age like designer mitt bags, and cell phones. It would not be too complex to make an LV or Coach purse shaped cake near a cute pink cell phone(cake also) and rhine stones(or hard candy) on the phone crust. You can really get creative next to it. I would use the spray icing, with stencils to hand over it that pro look. You can find it right at the grocery store.
