For my hubby's 70's b-day participant I made a disco ball pinata. We have people dress up within 70's clothes and gave away our decorations as prizes. We garlanded with lava lamp, velvet posters, bead curtains, etc... and of course you enjoy to serve fondue!
To make the pinata draw from a punching balloon (check out walmart, target, or a dollar store) and cover it with dissertation mache http://www.kinderart.com/sculpture/pinat...
paint it black and then gum squares of shiny silver paper adjectives over it. Fill with 70's candy and toys (like pop rocks and mini rubix cubes).
My hubby also made a 70's slide show on his laptop next to lots of 70's music.that just played continuously through the carnival.
How about a disco matter? That was contained by the 70s. Remember the disco ball that turns and sends sparkles everywhere. My husband's b-day is also 8/25. Good luck and contented birthday, in mortgage.
70's sounds a great idea i'm 30 on the 18-8-07 and only having a colour issue for my party "red".
The focus could be 70's tv shows, recording artists, and or movies. Have society dress accordingly and enjoy games centered around the same area. Games: Name That Tune or band--all seventies songs. Match Game. Or play more current games with adjectives seventies trivia. Win, lose, or draw.
Seventies dance contest. Don't forget the disco bubble.
And if someone shows up in a velour v-neck shirt, they carry bonus points.
1. Disco music, mirror ball, lava lamp, incense
2. Bell bottoms and platform shoes...think Saturday Night Fever...and downy Farah Fawcett hair
3. Serve fondue, Lipton onion dip & chips, ham and cheese on Ritz crackers, quiche, shish k bobs
4. Use the colors of the 70s; red, yellow, brown and plainly the ever-addictive split-pea-green. Hang bead curtains in doorways, and use bean rucksack chairs.
5. Have guests make their own pet rocks, using smooth river rocks and tempra paints.
Wow the 70's be there theme then? Disco be popular you know the bee gee's, donna summer, and flared pants. That would be kinda cool enjoy a disco ball on the bop floor and play the saturday night frenzy movie.
Go retro and find a mobile. Or you could rent a bar and let somebody know them the specifics or the theme and they can do the rest of the decorate for you. Make all your guests wear retro and specify that on the invitations. And also serve drinks on colorful daily cups. Use house music since 70's music are kind of outdated already. Have a great birthday carnival!
happy birthday!
view an episode of that seventie's show to get thinking for clothes!
yes,think sit night frenzy.
also serve dips loaded with cholesterol-no diet anything!
deviled eggs

as for drinks i do not know what be the fashonable drink then!
Hey, I'm have a 30th Disco party contained by July. My theme is Studio 54 {opened April 1977 within NYC} I have created an invite within powerpoint with 3 slides, first next to studio 54 annd disco ball border, 2nd slide near my name below christen a spinning disco ball and flashing dancefloor-copied and attach from studio 54 site, 3rd slide with dignitary studio 54 admission and studio 54 somebody drinkingpasses - from windows live studio 54. I also added a disco track that plays thru out the slide.
For decorations travel to www.thepartypeople.com.au they have backdrop and plates etc.
Rather than hire disco lights u can buy them real cheap from ebay. If powerless to purchase just buy spray paint and spray swirls on a big piece of cardboard. Purchase disco ball from $2 shop, cover lights with colourful celephane composition.
Also check out spotlight for some cheap fluro 70 style material to swing around house or over furniture. Play 70s videos within background.
If u want a underlit dancefloor st Kilda rd hires them for $950 or cheaper place within city for $600. That will be a winner at the fĂȘte.
