I muse you and some friends should go out to guzzle somewhere fun like...TGIF (Fridays) or Applebees...some place similar to that. Then go to see a movie. Have fun!
It's gonna sound for a moment stupid but a scavenger hunt but instead of listing items schedule the items as hints, like one entry on a deserted island you couldn't do without and endow with a point value base on what they bring back. My son is 17 and we did that and it be pretty creative. We ended it beside a bon fire. Good luck
Have a birthday participant with a kids area; sleepover, baby pictures and play a team game to have everyone pick who the picture belongs to, pin the tail on the donkey, pinata, etc.- (the games for the first couple of hours) next unlimited food- pizza, chicken, nachos, and a cupcake cake instead of a large cake because of rubbish. Therefore, the first hours build up to the adult stuff.

In San Francisco,someone have a b-day and I went to partly moon bay and told presence stories,had a potluck dinner and a bonfire and have some cake and hot chocolate.
